Because there are many ethnic and cultural families in Cleveland, the summer season offers a festival for almost every social group.

The Asain Festival on Cleveland’s near eastside starts the season in May. “Its purpose is to bring economic growth and awareness to the neighborhood while celebrating the diversity and Asian Pacific American Heritage month in May.”

The Clifton Arts & Music Fest is a unique gathering combining fine arts and live music in a true street atmosphere. It is a venue for artisans to display and sell their works. It annually attracts 40,000 guests and is the pride of Lakewood.

The Hessler Street Fair is held in the historical “Hippy” area to the east of the CWRU campus. This event features artisans and live music. The street becomes overwhelmed with the serious and the just curious. It will celebrate its 50thanniversary next year. Consequently, it is truly iconic if not a historical part of the culture of Cleveland.  Visit the the website at http://www.hesslerstreetfair.org/

The Feast of the Assumption is a major Cleveland festival commemorating the Virgin Mary’s ascension to heaven. Most noteworthy, it is a showcase of Italian cultures and traditions with religious rituals, music, and palate-tempting food. Mayfield Road is the site and the feast’s four-day span usually attracts 100,000 people.
